About Me

Hi, I’m Daniel Cox, a Game Designer and Writer. I make Video Games and other Playable Experiences ranging from TTRPGs to Escape Rooms. Over the past four years, I’ve earned a Bachelors degree in Games Design and Creative Writing and a Masters degree in Indie Games Design.

Through this, I’ve developed a strength for intertwining gameplay mechanics, characters, and stories into a cohesive whole where each aspect strengthens the other, rather than competing for dominance over the game.

My work often centres on contemporary issues of trauma, belonging, and communities through magical realism and witchcraft. These themes run throughout my life and have led to a hobbyist interest in history, anthropology, and political theory. My current focus is on magic and witchcraft and how belief in these connects people and relates to games.

All of these skills and interests combine to create my unique skillset as a designer which I am more than happy to share with anyone on any type of project. I particularly enjoy working as part of a team where I can push everyone’s ideas to their best while ensuring that all elements complement each other to create a piece of work that’s as good as it possibly could be.
